The last security symposium I attended, I was surprised to find many of the experts and white hats were using a MacBook of some type or another. I asked a few of them why, and the answers were generally "superior security" or "virtualization". One guy said he'd never take a Windows laptop into a compromised environment, except a virtualized one to be bait, for later infection analysis. When I asked why he didn't use Linux, he said he did, frequently, but only virtualized. Why not use Linux full time I pressed ... inconsistency in the OS he said, "it's brilliant in most places, flawed in others and still lacks maturity as a desktop OS."I suppose I could have argued with him, but this guy wasn't a Mac or Linux fanboy -- he was a security nerd and the Mac was just his preferred tool of choice. I'd consider him extremely tech savvy -- far more than your average Digger Linux-pro wannabe.

Most of the computers used in the White House run OS X. Welcome to the White House. He just saved their IT staff the trouble of setting him up with a macbook.Seriously, did you think the White House West Wing was filled with Windows computers known for their security holes? All Linux and OS X, buddy.And anyways, who cares what kind of computer he uses as long as he knows what a computer even is, unlike Bush.
