Nothing can be better then Amarok my friend ;)

There are 2 things that keeps me using Amarok, which Banshee doesn't have: a Lyrics Downloader, and Equalizer Presets.

I haven't found banshee to be resource hungry or slow at all and I'm on a 5 year old computer

It's hungry. I compared RB and Banshee yesterday with most plugins disabled (in this case RB was more powerful, it could download Podcasts, Query songs, Library watching, Fadeout, Gapeless playback -- these are things Banshee provide only with plugins or just doesn't support at all). I played on the same library -- about 9300 songs, 200Gb on my Ubuntu 9.10 64bit. In this case RB took about 40-44Mb, Banshee -- 81-83Mb. In addition, RB starts up much faster and scrolling works without lags.

You are wrong. At least, banshee eats twice more resources on minimal configuration with the same library (9300 songs) at my Ubuntu 9.10 64bit than Rhythmbox: 40Mb RB vs 80Mb Banshee. But RB is more powerfull as a music player on this config: it can Gapeless playback, library watching, downloading podcasts, song query, fadeout, burning cd. These things need plugin or just doesn't work with banshee at all. In addition RB feels much faster.
