0.13.2 and before have quite decent support, including on-the-fly transcoding. But DAP and other hardware-related features are not in this first Alpha release. They will certainly be back in before the 1.0 release, and probably by the next Alpha.

Banshee uses mono. I would think twice before using it.

For those who are unaware, ruiacp was referring to the potential patent issues. Parts of it may infringe on MS patents, and with Novell granted explicit exemption from such patent law suites there is the potential for other users and developers to be left out in the cold. Personally, I'd rather minimise my dependence on their software.
