Quote BigDaveDiode = "I don't generally discuss that, and it wouldn't matter anyway as it's just another form of the logical fallacy "appeal to authority" and you have no way of knowing what kind of authority I am."Exactly. Why do people make claims to what they've accomplished or who they are on the internet? You're all random, anonymous, average people on the internet - nothing more nothing less. DaveV - you're not in the military. You can scream and yell it all you want. I don't believe you and no one else does either. You're just another guy who claims all sorts of things. Make arguments with logic and links and not with unverifiable claims.BTW, I am a navy seal, have a PhD in particle physics, bench press 800 lbs and have a supermodel girlfriend...no wait, two supermodel girlfriends.
When a service member enters and is sworn in he or she is informed that it is a profession. Once the service member's contract is over then the benefits are over. In these service members defense I have been out for a little over two years and it has been really tough. There are only winners and losers. Some people seem to soar like an eagle, while others somehow get f**ked up and have to sleep at the homeless shelter.
Holy crap! "while an estimated 500,000 veterans were homeless at some time during 2004, the VA had the resources to tend to only 100,000 of them."More troops are homeless each year than are on active duty over seas!
Again I see the evidence: the talk about the US supporting troops is all talk and like always once the humans have been exploited, they are discarded. Typical US style corporate free market fascism. Not an ideology the rest of the world should pursue. Very distasteful, bordering on treacherous.
I don't care. This just stinks. It smells like a pile of rotten s**t. It's flat-ass unacceptable. And guess what, it's nothing new. WWII Vets were the last vets who ever got the respect they deserved. After that, this country has treated its Vets like s**t. ESPECIALLY the Feds and their Joke of an organization called the VA. Oh and if we allow it and do nothing about it, then it's the same as doing it to them personally. We won't even talk about what we do to them while they are on the battlefield. Not even giving them up-to-date body protection armor or the right Armor for their vehicles? Making families buy the right kind of body armor for their loved ones on the battlefield? That's barbarian. Then there's our dirty little secret about using depleted uranium (nuclear waste) for projectile ammunition which irradiates our soldiers and causes a huge increase in their risk of cancer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depleted_Uranium On and on and on.Don't think Bush doesn't know about any of this. He couldn't give a s**t less about our "Brave Men and Women of the US Military" as he puts it. Of course that statement is true, but it's a lie coming from his mouth.

What they expect is the benefits they are promised.

This in an outrage. killers wandering our streets. Murderers should be locked up in jail not hanging out at the homeless shelter.
