aintitcoolnews.com — One of the greatest sci-fi series of all time will return in a series of direct-to-DVD mini movies. They will be written and directed by J. Michael Straczynski and we can expect the first set to be released during the second quarter of 2007.

If I remember correctly all of the space battles were done in CG and Fenris6644 it took them almost four years to get to the end of the Shadow war. It was almost like the show was done in real time one week passed in the real world and one week passed in the show.

G'Kar is dead? Oh no! I'm taking a few minutes to collect myself. Now. Spaced is great, do watch it. The line is, as pointed out, a quote designed to gain the effect of getting fired (it worked). B5 had an excellent arc, detailed and consistent. Even if it was low budget it still has a fair chance of being better than 90% of the sci-fi that is out there these days (and yes I happily admin BSG is awesome - but only because JMS showed the way on arcs and audience expectations - which he happily admits was inspired byB7 - work it out)

Pretty much everything Babylon 5-related after Season 4 was questionable if not terrible, in my opinion. Once Ted Turner & TNT got their grubby paws on it, it was just never the same series. That supposedly "hot" female Captain who couldn't act her way out of an open airlock... blechhh. She alone was almost enough to completely ruin it for me; that whole situation with her just reeked of heavy-handed corporate influence. Plus, without the whole Vorlon/Shadow dynamic, the episodes just felt a little hollow and soulless.Don't get me wrong, there were still some really good story lines (the fall of Centauri Prime, for instance), but it just seemed like it was a constant uphill battle against TNT's cheesy influence.*hrmm I like how it cut my comment off when I tried to edit it*

man this is cool. I just finished watching the series via bittorrent, and I find it both exciting and ironic that its coming back.

Is Andrea Thompson still an anchor on CNN's Headline News channel?

I'm glad to see more B5, but the phrase "direct to DVD" usually translates to "suckfest" in the minds of most people.

This CD represents mainly music from the first season of the show. The main themes heard included the Requiem for the Line, one of the best pieces from the first season. Also included are snippets of themes used through out the first season. Ranging from quiet, emotional pieces to louder battle sections, Christopher Franke's music is journey of pure excitement. The second season is also represented with music from the first half of the season. A definate change in style can be heard, as the show began to get darker in tone and so the music matches the events of the show. With the first season only represented on this volume and the episodic CD "Chrysalis", I recommend this CD totally. Definately worth purchasing, even if your'e not a Babylon 5 fan.http://www.dvdcollects.com

More info...According to producer J. Michael Straczynski as of mid-2006 "The DVD sales have raised over 500 million in revenue." The financial success of the DVD box sets has led to a renewed interest in further Babylon 5 work. The first fives seasons have been recently re-released on DVD with publishing dates of June-2009. http://www.flexurflix.com
