I'm afraid it was liquefied on impact... and before.

And they have not charged her with anything because?

And thus, another badass was born. The first sensation that kid felt in life was free fall toward possible oblivion. Seems pretty likely that he's going to grow up to be a real-life James Bond.

She was simply giving him a kick to wake him from a dream.

21?
I could understand if a child at the age of 13-15 was confused and scared. (not condoning the action at all, but I understand how frightened they might be. Frightened is no excuse for that type of action though.) But 21? Guess what? You are an adult no matter what us old fogies might say. Throwing a baby out of a window in a bag is...well it's beyond words and thoughts that I have. The mother I don't give a s**t about at this point. I just hope this poor child goes to a good home.

There is no point speculating when the simple truth is she got drunk, had sex, now didn't want the baby so threw it out of a window.
What a donkey.

There is no reason to be insulting donkeys right now.

How is this woman not getting in any kind of trouble??? WTF? I guess the next step is just putting babies out in the trash.... Or selling them at yard sales..... :P

This...is...SPARTA!

If you're going to erase your baby at least put some thought or effort into it. I just can't believe this woman's laziness. Take it to the zoo, let it wander into the gator pen, then collect a settlement.

I don't know bud. I learned everything I know about it over the internet today. But it's the postpartum psychosis not depression that leads to infanticide. Most women experience some degree of baby blues. The psychosis was explained in one link as a fear of merging with the infant and an inability to distinguish between the child and self or something like that. I'd guess it has to do with hormones but that's just a guess. A few hundred children are killed in their first year in the U.S., most of them by their mothers, more boys than girls, about 60% of them white and 40% black. Common methods are strangulation, trauma to the head, and drowning. I really wish I didn't know this.

And do most of these women get tried as murderers? or go free? And how many of these women go on to be good mothers? bad mothers? Kill again?

Postpartum depression does not kick in until after the baby is born, and it takes a few days-the woman's physical and emotional system has to actually register the fact that she has indeed had a baby.
Obviously she thought the baby was a piece of trash, so she threw it out the window. She knew what she was doing-but she obviously didn't care about it.
That kind of person is worthy of the same kind of punishment. Wrap her in a bag and throw her away. She's not any good for anyone. I'm sure that the authorities will charge her with any number of things-child endangerment, abandonment, abuse-to list a few.
Hopefully the child will be placed in a better situation, and the records sealed so they never know that they weren't valued at all when they were born. What a ego crusher that would be for anyone.

I thought the depression came when you started getting the hospital bills in the mail...

From what I could tell they sometimes get manslaughter or something less than murder. In some places there is a special category for women who kill their kids in the first year of life. I would hope they don't have children afterwards but I have no idea if that is a possible condition of release or part of a sentence.
