toddcox.com— Best Buys have received their second shipment of Nintendo Wii's. They're telling employees to lie about any knowledge of them and to deny they can even up any information on order qty's+

I work at Futureshop and we had the same case. We received 72 Wii's, 62 were givin to customers and the rest were allocated to the customers who didn't get a ps3 due to mis-informed shipping numbers. When 3 of the 10 ps3 customers didn't show up by the deadline, we were instructed to only sell the leftovers if we could package a good bundle. Well I don't really care for this rule, I thought it was absolute crap and I sold the 3 Wii's to the next 3 customers. I did put together good packages but only because I believed they should have had what they bought.all these problems root from the whole business model of BB/FS. 5 minutes before we let people in the door on Wii launch, our GM sits the gaming staff down and tells us how this is a very important day and that whoever sells the most gets this and that. Their are meetings weekly on how to "sell" the customer the warranty. In fact, your future in the company depends on whether or not you can push their warranty/sales. It's an unfair position, that starts all the way up from headquarters ragging on GM's, to department managers, to employees. I am a senior employee in gaming and I teach new staff to only sell things they believe in. I don't even mention warranty on gamecubes, but when it comes to xbox 360 a unit that we on average get back about 4-6 a week, I make it hard for them to leave without it, for their own sake.sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to comment that this company is run by packaging bundles and warranty and it's not anybody's fault but the owners of best buy that choose to exploit it. They contradict their own store morals of "giving the customer exactly what they need" by putting so much weight and giving so much appraisal to staff for having a good day selling the warranty.
This is the worst story I've read about the wii. I worked at KB toys and lived though the PS1 and 2. Who the hell cares that you used to work for best buy? your attitude about their sales practice is your own fault. If you're bitter then shop somewhere else. If you left on bad terms its your business. It's just a generic rant from a poor excuse of an employee. If you don't like the store then don't shop there. why throw around your weight? lame digg.
I understand this, but what I do find is bulls**t is them saying their next shipment will be available on a monday morning and then they put the shipment out on sunday so all the people that wait outside on monday get nothing.
This is just dumb. They are just holding them so that they can do "mini-launches". If you don't want to stand outside and wait then just buy a wii at a site like http://www.buyawii.org or some wii locator. That's what my girlfriend did.
Umm I work for Best Buy and I can honestly say I have never lied to a customer about having a product in stock ESPECIALLY A Wii!!! I also know for a fact that this practice is not condoned in any of our stores . . .
is there anybody you are not boycotting . . . soon you will have to start knitting your own clothes and also best buy has nothing to do with the mfg warranty so do not get mad at the wrong person also you should have bought the service plan that was offered so i guess its actually your fault : )
