@ gjscdsSo in other words, don't be yourself, discard any interests you may have in favor of those that are deemed "cool," and don't be enthusiastic about anything except finding a way to get laid? Some of us are secure enough that we don't feel the need to sacrifice our individuality in the pursuit to be "cool." Maybe you should try it.
I'm with insomniacal and aboyd. The only thing not mentioned, is the constant 'holding pattern' the characters seem to be in. The Apollo/Starbuck thing was old before it even began. Yet time and time again they wave a conclusion to the matter under our noses, only to have both characters go right back at it in the next episode.Nearly all the main cast have had interesting 'moments' of character development but yet they go right back to where they started. If you want to write for characters that never change, go work on the Simpsons.I'm still smarting for the horrific treatment Kat's character got, turning her one-time stim addiction from 'Civilian struggling to cope with the intense and demanding pressure of war' into 'Drug addict past who then compounds her past by lying and doing wrongs to protect her identity'. Oddly the show's writers are the only people not to be aware that this has been done to death in pretty much every TV soap and drama ever created. They should get back to what makes BSG so good, a dark and bleak show about war, hope and the pressures of exile. Here's hoping the new 13 return to the quality of Season one.
next to SG1?Far far away from SG1 I hope, SG1 is languishing in its deathbed with viewers thinking "just die already". It had its moments, but I don't think SG1 can be fixed anymore, the horse has died, and has been raised as a zombie, with about as much personality.
Ehhhh......I dunno. I want to like BSG, I have some friends who watch it (Darksaber11), but.....not enough action. Too much character development, which sounds odd.
Since the series has a lot to do with drama, more than the action, which by the way is great, It is only fair that they find the Earth at our present time. But to makemore interesting, they should find an earth that has experienced its AI conflicts and to their shock, discover that humans did in fact create their own versions of the more advanced cylons, but to prolong their own lives. In other words, earthlings can choose to either die or go on living in cylon like-bodies. Humans will have also experienced a rebelious race of AIs, perhaps even having gone to war with them, but spared at the face of defeat as an act of compassion by the machines to reveal that they had aquired a soul. This serves to bring humanity and AIs together. This new earth they find is much more advanced, with perhaps beaming technology, energy shields or impenetrable hull platings, and short range FTL drives that would allow their ships to jump all over the battle field, dropping their ordinances inbetween jumps and destroying the enemy without ever been locked on "dredis". Also, these earth would have estinguished religion, believing in some force in the universe, of nature perhaps, but not of a "God". I would say that they would be communist like, and our sympathy for them would go for their curiosity in seeing how faith drives the colonists and the cylons, but as they are drawn to a more logical conclusion of the existence of one God as against many gods, and because they are at piece with the AIs, believing that they created life in their image and now live in harmony with it, I would say that the the colonials would find themselves in trouble, oforced to either relinquish their religions or be banished from earth and its vast system of colonies. Well, not until Xena wakes up and decides to introduce some kind of virus into the earth AIs into making them believe in their one god theory, separating the AIs from the humans on earth in their own religious conflict, starting the cycle once again for a new version of a figth between humans and AIs (cylons & earth's), with sympathizers of both races on both sides, introducing a web of deceit, lies and mistrust to which we are all familiar with, and where only Adama and a handful of humans, this time, cylons included, join forces to deter the war which this time, will be like soviet x US cold war conflict of total retaliation by matched superpowers, leacing nothing behind.

This is great news. I cant think of a better television show that deserves to continue more.

There will be a movie between season 3 and season 4. That's why it will start in January.
