celestia.sourceforge.net — You can travel throughout the solar system, to any of over 100,000 stars, or even beyond the galaxy. All movement in Celestia is seamless; the exponential zoom feature lets you explore space across a huge range of scales, from galaxy clusters down to spacecraft only a few meters across. Definitely worth checking out.

Dug.On a semi related note. Does anyone out there have a good space program simulator? I remember one back on the C64 that had you design a space station, launch shuttles, choose crew, and all that good stuff. And I know there was Microsoft Space game/simulator a few years back but I never was able to afford that as a kid. I'd love to get ahole of a good simulator/'space program manager' like that, are there any around these days?

Allegiance is a great space sim and is free and online right now.
It has great community support and the 3d in-depth gameplay is always fun.
I've been playing for 10 years because it just never gets boring when
the gameplay is so much like real strategic warfare situations in deep space.
