Even though I'm a member of the FSF, I have to admit that I haven't been able to live up to Stallman's '100% free' approach. I wish I could, but I love my computer video apps, my eye candy, and various other bits and pieces too much to let them go.But even if *I* sometimes yield to the temptation of 'ruinous compromises', I'm really glad there's someone like Stallman out there taking such a hard line - otherwise there'd be an awful lot LESS free software.PS, if you use Linux, did you know there's a program called vrms? It stands for 'Virtual Richard M Stallman, and it will list the non-free software on your system. I was kinda pleased to see that my computer is 99.4% free!

In my debian system, vrms reports the emacs21-common-non-dfsg package as non-free. For the benefit of those who may not know it, I'll add that Emacs is a program created by RMS...
