34, but i'm not sure. I had speech problems as a child, I'm good with numbers and computers, bad with people, and many say I'm clumsy. What do y'all think?

That's right you cannot self-diagnose. My son's diagnosis involved many hours of testing and thousands of dollars. He was tested and we (the parents) were asked many questions. Also, his pediatrician and also his teachers were questioned. He was also tested for intellectual capacity and attention span. The IQ testing needs to be taken with a grain of salt because autistic people tend to be underscored on these kinds of tests. In the end, it got very repetitive. I guess the person who designed the tests was autistic. :-)

Polaris75, just had a glance at your posting history. Seems you spend a lot of your valuable time stirring up trouble. If you spent less time trolling web sites you might realize that you need some intelligence to effectively insult your intellectual superiors (i.e., most people.)In case you're between crack binges and having a hard time figuring this out, I'll sum up in small, easy to understand words: piss off, troll.

35, but I think I'm just a geek. I grew up poor, though, so I missed out on any chance of diagnosis. Which is probably for the best: growing up being treated for a disease would surely have screwed me up even more tham I am already.

Me: Software DeveloperScore: 28Hopefully that means I'm just a geek ;)

35 Fairly high-end, even for a digger.

s**t. I got a 35.That's bad. I think it has something to do with my love of patterns... *sigh*
nogoodnamesleftApr 27, 2006
I got a 30, at which stage I lost any respect I might have had for the test. That would put me in the borderline autistic category... at the risk of sounding self-delusional, there is no way I'm anywhere near that.Sure, there are undeniably some very geeky aspects to my personality, and certain aspects of my behaviour as a kid was very definitely autistic-ish, but I know myself, and frankly there's no way I'd ever be diagnosed autistic by any reasonable test. (NB This probably goes for most readers of Digg too, regardless of whatever they'd like to think; and autism *does* seem to be "fashionable" around geeks).
soulrubbleApr 27, 2006
Heh. I got about 2/3 of the way through the test, then I noticed that you're supposed to score it yourself. I didn't feel like screwing around scoring each damn question, so I quit.I think that just told me more about myself than finishing the test would have. :)

33 and I disagreed with all the mathmetical/pattern stuff.

I got a 40 so I took it again and made myself a little more social but I still got 37 :o(...I know I have Asperger's Syndrome so it's not bad....Thing is I have friends (great friends) and I have an offical IQ of 140...Asperger's isn't the problem some think it is!The only problem I have ever had is with my last employer (new director took over my office) who thought he had to talk to me very in a very slow manner........ I thought he had suffered a stroke for a long time until he tried to tell a co-worker that they were speaking to fast for me to understand her reply to him was loud and looked quite humilliating for him!

I think this test is just a test. It can't diagnose you as AS. There much controversy about the AS, specially between health professionals. It's not as simple as if you had a knee problem. Many psychologists would prefer to just diagnose you as schizoid. As this is a problem related to people's personality you cannot expected that every person you have the same personality as well as the same problems on it. Also, AS syntoms will vary from person to person, one can have problems on relationships, other will have problems on reasoning, other will suffer with TOC issues. I prefer the schizoid model, because it at least as a more coherent model to be applied on a treatment. AS is too based on biological aspects, it still has not develop a treatment for the symdrome. There are other test available here: Visit http://aspergerworld.blogspot.com/2008/06/as-test. ...You can read about schizoid personality here: http://aspergerworld.blogspot.com/2008/11/betrayal ...
