I watched an hour long show about this guy. It included him reciting the number pi, learning Icelandic, and meeting another savant that was the basis for the character from Rain Man. I think that it was on Discovery Health last year, but I am not for certain.

so there over 6000 daniel tammets in the world? i'd say hes more like 1 in 6 billion. not only is he a savant but he has almost none of the disability as well
