Austin Approves $2.3 Billion Biomass Energy Project

ecolocalizer.com — The Austin City Council gave approval last week for the city-owned utility, Austin Energy, to enter into a $2.3 billion 20-year contract for purchasing all power produced from a 100 megawatt wood-waste-fueled biomass plant scheduled to begin operation in 2012.
