winecellarsecrets.blogspot.com — A star is born in Margaret River. The 2005 and 2006 chardonnays and several reds from this maker, Chapman Grove Wines, have turned the head of renowned wine writer, Huon Hooke, recently. This one impressed the most. It is a complex, multi-layered and quite Burgundy-like chardonnay, smelling of lightly roasted nuts, nougat, toast and honeysuckle.

This is a delicate and subtle wine in the mouth, with savoury as well as primary fruit flavours that will keep you entertained. Although it feels lovely in the mouth and is delicious now, it leaves the impression it will improve or at least maintain its quality with keeping up to five years.
