gamernode.com — Just when you thought film and TV is beginning to actually respect gaming and take it seriously, things like this pop up. Filled with horribly incorrect statements, the worst montage I've seen in ages, and some pretty outdated gamer stereotypes, I don't think the guys behind the new TV show Life have even seen a game since 1990.

The effects of the writer's strike are becoming painfully obvious.

That like saying that people who watch movies are "just losers who sit around all day and watch movies".Not all people who play video games are pimply-faced 12-year-olds who spend 16 hours a day on World of Warcraft.

Agreed. It is a really good show, and this is easily the worst scene out of it. It kind of annoys me that someone took the time to post just this scene and probably drive a whole bunch of people away from even trying the show, even though the show as a whole is actually really good. Not only that, but they didn't even put in enough of it to properly explain what's going on and why it's hidden on the xbox, which although it doesn't explain away the stupidity entirely, it at least puts it in context. Also, it's not like most TV shows do a very good job with this sort of thing. At least they had a girl showing up a nerdy guy at a video game.
