news.com — "If we get 20,000 people to join the group Flickr will be forced to give us free donuts!" the group's manifesto states. "Join the group and invite all your contacts. We will make this the biggest protest group on Flickr and force them to give us free donuts!"

Meh, I agree with the video protesters. The best thing about Flickr was how focused it was on photography, how fast it loaded, and how streamlined and suited it was just for photos.I don't want my Flickr turning into another goddamn youtube. There's nothing wrong with these protest groups, I'm sure the Flickr developers are happy for whatever feedback they get.

What's wrong with Flickr video? I mean don't get me wrong, if I can get a free doughnut for pretending like I hate it, I'll f**kin' be all over that s**t.

I think the people who dislike it missed Flickr's intention to have users post what they call "Video Snapshots". The point being, it' something quick that will give the perception of a moving snapshot, it is not intended for posting wedding videos, skits or the like. They are not trying to be a Youtube competitor just trying to add a little extra for its' users. If you don't like the new functionality A)don't post videos B) Don't watch the videos. See how easy that was?
