latimes.com— Pastor Marty Baker's 'Giving Kiosks' are catching on. Members say they use credit cards for everything else -- why not tithing?

"You disrespect a large portion of the American people when you obviously don't know what you're talking about."Yea well, that's because I don't respect a large portion of the American people, so you're absolutely right.I should also add that I read "The Neverending Story", great book. Even so, I'd find it absurd for me to get uptight over the criticism of a fairly tale, no matter how great it is.
using a credit card to pay your tithe is not exactly the "firstfruits".The Biblical idea of tithing is the first fruits of your harvest, so similarly church members often prefer to give straight after the pay cheque (i use direct debit) rather than seeing what they have left at the end of the month and chucking that in the collection. Using a credit card implies laziness or lack of forethought, not exactly the right heart for returning to God a portion of what he has blessed you with. Visitors who are not members should not feel compelled to give, or rather if they do, then they should come prepared with their cheque book and a tax relief form.
That`s nothin', When I first saw the headline about ATM in a church I thought they were talking about priests doing ASS TO MOUTH on the kiddies again! My bad!
I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. Mohandas Gandhi You`re a Christian? Then forgive me! /sarcasm
We are living in the end times here. A spiritual battle that has been going on for years; Satan the tempter is like a raging lion waiting to devour who he can but we know who is going to win in the end. JESUS. AMEN About the tithing; God gives us so much, he gave us the job that we have to earn that money. All he asks from us is merely 10%. I know, for God says it, 10% is His. The tithe I give is given with prayer. I think that having an ATM take that tithe is taking away from your relationship with God. God should not be convenient. He should and always be first. Doesn't he deserve the best. At least keep this in mind: Please talk to God about what is best. Don't make your decision based on personal feelings or convenience but on what God would want. Pray always. Remember Satan knows the Bible better than we do and he is just waiting for that weak point to tempt us. Stay in fellowship with our Savior Jesus Christ. The Alpha. The Omega. The Beginning and the End. The Great I AM
Umm, having your parishioners get money out of an ATM to pay the church for their services is a haughty and rather resembles a "business of crappy sacrifices". The reason the church asks for money from people is so it can stay afloat. The fact that our country has rich televangelists with crystal cathedrals corroborates the claim that a goals of American Churches is to gather wealth and display it. This seems to counter most of the ideas conveyed in the "compendium of little books". I'm glad the era of wealth is over in America. It was getting sort of ridiculous, all these churches being built.
