gizmodo.com — The newest British Royal Navy's submarine looks like a giant whale, can sit in the English Channel and fire cruise missiles at North Africa; but perhaps the most extraordinary feature of the British-built sub is that it will never need to be refuelled throughout its 25-year lifespan, meaning it can sail round the world 40 times without surfacing.

@LexisNexisThat would be an emergency blow - you have to test it at the end of a sea trail run to ensure it will work when you really need it.People were killed, because they are supposed to check for contacts via several methods (not just visual) at PD, then immediately go back down to conduct the emergency blow (unstoppable once started). The boat they hit, and hit it by the rudder btw, was the Ehime Maru. I'm sure you can find a wiki on this info.

She had a Service Life Extension Program (think 5 year maintenance "upgrade") in the late 80s - giving her a breath of fresh air for a few more decades. Just because this Brit sub's reactor core has a life of 25 years, doesn't mean the core can't be refueled, and she continue to go out to sea for a few more 25 year periods. Given that though, I accept your joke, it was funny.

Although neither the concept nor the realization of it are entirely novel, the self-contained and sufficient apparatus of such a vessel has a peculiar merit in its continuing evolution.Although the real intent of this particular application of technology appears to be entirely tactical, the concept of self containment and sufficiency for extended durations can ultimately be applied in a perpetual case. There are many rational naturalists who agree that life on earth is at ever-increasing risk today. Some notable academics like Stephen Hawking have gone as far as proposing that permanent escape of some people from the planet is imperative for the survival of humankind. It is hard to imagine the condition of the planet being more hostile to life than space, but if it could be, then it is quite credible that it was before. Nevertheless, a disciple of Jesus named Peter wrote to tell us that there are those who are *willingly* ignorant of this."By the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished."Curiously, the Ark sustained Noah and others for 40 days. This submarine purports to sustain itself for up to 40 circumnavigations – or forty spins of the earth (days) relative to the submarine itself. Now Peter was referring to something that did happen in the past and to which events there were human witnesses. The events Peter was referring to are also confirmed to us by Moses, and Jesus.Today, an astronomer and best-selling author speculates about the beginning of the universe using a big-bang theory. He suggests the occurrence of an event to which there were no witnesses, and yet he receives a great deal of credibility.Whether you believe Noah, Moses, Jesus and Peter, or you believe astronomers and opponents of science falsely so-called, they both agree on this point: there is an end.Now it may well be that men build an ark, and like the submarine circumnavigating the earth, their spaceship may circumnavigate the universe, traveling light-years in a relatively short space of time.Nevertheless and much to the chagrin of those who might hope to escape the condemnation of the Earth, according to the Word of God, the coming judgment will destroy both the heavens and the earth. In essence, we can simply say that they will not be able to get far enough away."The heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."Amen, Amen, "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."Now we do not know the hour, but it is quite apparent that the Lord's arm is not short that he cannot save his elect should they eventually travel even into outer space."And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."So, what I would ask those who do not believe is simply this:"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him?"The Word of God tells us that he “has appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness.”What about you? Are you ready for that day? Whether you are ready or not, and no matter if you think you will see that day or not, you can be assured that, “it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment.”Publicly Preaching the Judgment of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ on the street and on the webhttps://www.maulis.com
