I was going to edit my comment to put this info in, but time ran out.According to Wikipedia, this star is 1,950 lightyears away. So really, 2,000 years is a pretty small time difference when dealing with such things, I don't suppose timeframe really matters.
"old news that star probly went suprnova a million years ago how is this new newd?"You sir are an idiot. The star in question is 1,950 light years away and thus could never have super nova'd more than 1,950 years ago. However, in these circumstances, it is considered that time is relative, not absolute. Therefore, while it may have actually occurred thousands of years ago, we cannot fully judge the time until we are able to witness it.In any case, learn to spell, learn to type and most of all, learn to fraken read.

Because of how long it takes light to travel, for all we know the star could have exploded years ago.
