Just 1 question. I know the problem with detonating a nuke in or by the asteroid. Fragmentation of course. Yet I am always wondering why not send a salvo of nukes? Their are missiles with MIRV's now-a-day's anyway. Probably wouldn't take more then 3-4 missiles depending on the size considering most missiles have like 8-12 warheads. Detonate them all one after another and vaporize the majority of the meteor.

Our scientists can handle the asteroids and if we declare war on the asteroids, the Republicans will go along with it also.
