The PS3 does have 512mb of memory. You'd know that if you read the article.

This a a problem for game developers and not gamers.

i'd have to disagree... PS3 memory will NEVER equal the 360s. For one reason and one reason alone, the 256 thats setup for the Cell is RAMBUS. RAMBUS was good 4 years ago, and 4 years is almost a generation in PC technology. Hence the PS3 512MB is crippled compared to the 360. Anyway, dont make the mistake of comparing the 512MB of PS3 as the same as the X360. If im wrong then i guess the dev guys shouldn't have problem, but lo and behold they do. (PS. im not a fanboy, i love my motorstorm, blueray and Halo3 - i know im gonna get dugg down, but i can't wait for Conan, awaiting for which system would be better))

I've been using the same hard drives in my pc's for years, most of the hard drives I have had fail are 6-7 years old. I'm not too worried about hard drive durability myself.

I personally think that Microsoft has a far superior console for several reasons that I do not want to discuss right now, however that does not mean it has no faults. The major one being; DVD9. Why did you do this to us? I'm sure we could've waited a bit longer for you to atleast use HD-DVD to bump up the capacity a bit because anybody knows that these next generation games are sooner or lter going to grow on size exceeding DVD capacities. Its a damn shame.

Nice try DarkShroud. Learn the technology before posting those numbers. GDDR3 is currently the fastest memory you can get. I see that Sony did a good job in brainwashing many of the fanboys. GDDR3 is greater than any XDR "X"GHz memmory. I dont care what GHz you attached to your XDR memory, that cheap piece of crap will never amount to what GDDR3 can do. Why dont you ask your beloved Sony why they use two different memory types? Could it be that they want to save money? And seeing that CPU is not really that intensive in games, Sony attached the XDR to it... Think about that and tell me how the crippled 512 XDR + GDDR of Sony can compare to the 512 GDDR3 of Xbox.PS. You'll never see a state of the are PC game machine running a graphics card and main memmory is XDR. Its all DDRx baby!!! I love my PS3, Heavenly Sword is awesome despite the review but dont ever get those two memory confused. When a dev say they are having problem with memory, they know what they are talking about.

I didn't buy my PS3 for the blu-ray drive, but it is an added bonus. Everyone keeps saying "Oh you paid extra to have only one disc". Are you retarded? How long do you think that games can ride the back of the DVD? How long till compression is not feasible on a DVD without loss of quality? How long till you will need to have the new and improved Xbox? 3 years, 4 years? Think about long term, you get what you pay for.
