To me, the new icons look better than the old. Better alpha-channel blending. Look at the reflective highlight on the battery, the upper-left corner of the computer screen, and the light outlines on the folder and camera. The feathering on the shadows looks better--it's more of an oil stain in the 2.0 icons. I didn't see much difference in the globe.

With more and more browsers fully adopting web standards and passing the Acid2 test it would behoove Microsoft to do the same with IE. Doubt that'll happen though.

@LudoA<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid2">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid2</a>"Acid2 is a test case designed by the Web Standards Project" Not designed for standards compliance? Hum you need some update here. I recommend reading the hole page.

@LudoA:Urm, you're wrong there. Acid2 mainly tests CSS2 features and layout, and some HTML features.Yes, it does contain some invalid CSS, invalid properties and values, but still has _everything_ to do with standards compliance. The standard specifies what the user agent should do when it encounters syntax errors, invalid property names or values in the CSS, Acid2 tests the browser's compliance with these rules. But again, the handling of these errors is only a small part of Acid2.<a class="user" href="http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid2/guide/">http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid2/guide/</a> - official guide to Acid2
