At least it'll keep the Tour on US TV (maybe) another year.Maybe we'll even have some other races broadcast (doubtful).Eddy Merckx IS the best rider in history...he was a true racer, not merely Bike racing celebrity like Lance, who only raced for the Tour and a handful of "appearance" races.
Thanks for the pity, redlantern. I truly need it, given my status as a man who doesn't need a plastic bracelet to remind him he loves his family.I jest, really. It's cool that they make money for research and what have you, I just couldn't stand the unbridled sanctimony that went along with them upon their introduction, and how quickly the message was warped. I also hate things used "to raise awareness" of something like cancer, like we'd all forgotten that it exists and it sucks.
