franklasee.blogspot.com — To protect our kids from harm, I plan to introduce legislation to allow, NOT REQUIRE, trained school personnel to carry weapons in Wisconsin. Other countries have done it successfully and made their schools more safe in the process. I truly believe that it can work in WI too. What do you think? It will be interesting to see how this concept

It has everything to do with it. What he was saying, and I agree with, is that if they can't be TRUSTED with a gun, how can they be TRUSTED to take care of our kids for 8 hours a day. If they are going to use that gun illegally or immorrally, they might as well carry it into school illegally.

"they arent trained to use weapons and take the life of a person."You may not have actually read the article, but training is a mandatory part of being allowed to carry.

@ PowerCow"at least private schools (the only kind of schools we should have)so the poor dont deserve an education?"The poor could get a lot better education if they weren't forced to go to government schools. Their parents would be free to find the schools that were best suited to their children's needs and abilities and offered whatever they thought was the best protection for their children.

Teachers should not have guns, the school system should hire security or have state aided security at schools if needed.

People are born neither good nor evil. They are born with all the potentialities of both good and evil that human nature includes. They choose good or evil. Freedom in their environment tends to encourage good because they are held accountable for their choices. The more they are controlled by their society, the greater the tendency to evil because it is human nature to want to control rather than be controlled.

If you can't trust teachers to care for firearms properly, then you can't trust them to care for your kids. Further, I believe that if firearms safety were to be taught IN SCHOOLS, we'd have far less gun violence. When the only contact kids have with firearms is the image portrayed in Hollywood or Gansta videos on MTV, how can you expect them to learn firearm saftey and responsibility. If we only exposed kids to NASCAR and removed drivers training from their curriculum, what would our highway death toll be today? There are too many demented people, both kids and adults in our society today that would and do cause our children harm. It is incumbent upon responsible adults to do everything in their power to protect our children. If we can't educate teachers on the care and responsible use of firearms, what does that say about our ability to educate anyone on any topic. The fact is we CAN, we just Don't. Leaving our children defenseless against wackos that are intent on doing them harm is simply INDEFENSIBLE .

Teaching kids that guns are the answer to solving problems will solve the school shooting problems. Great example for kids! Conservatives..always thinking ahead!

I think we should arm the good, (aka more popular)kids too, just to be sure they stop the bad (aka unpopular) kids.
