articles.sun-sentinel.com — The recent law in Arizona that purports to crack down on immigration not only runs counter to the federal government's role in dealing with immigration, but it reeks of racial profiling and violates constitutionally-protected civil liberties. Sadly, it is hardly the first time we have been down this path.

Yeah, because "driving while black" has NEVER been used as a pretext to pull people over, right?

This law is flat out bulls**t and it will only result in more negation of inalienable rights. The government has no right to ask someone for their papers for possibly being an illegal immigrant, as that is not probable cause.

nullcodes, don't act like diluting the horrible crime in latino areas by mixing in the rest of Arizona is honest. You want to be honest, compare crimes in latino neighborhoods to white neighborhoods. Compare crime in latino neighborhoods now to crime in latino neighborhoods over the last ten years. Everyone knows that kidnappings, extortion and murder are WAY up in latino neighborhoods. Hell look at mexico, every week they find 6 buckets of acid with whats left of human beings inside, police tortured and hanging from public overpasses and entire families gunned down. That s**t is moving across the border into latino neighborhoods here.

Right, and Jim Crow laws were ok because they stated "separate but equal".

zrakoplovim- If you ever get out of high school, you'll find the world does not work that way.P.S. Native Americans found out what happens with uncontrolled immigration.

if those day labourers are American Citizens, no problem. If they have broken the laws established by the citizens and legislatures of the state and country, then they deserve to be punished. If you don't like those laws, get enough people to support you and change the laws.

reasonable suspicion means I will get pulled over everyday. I am Native American and Spanish so most of these dumbass cops think I'm Mexican. Violate my 4th amendment rights and Im suing the f**k out of everyone I can. AZ will go broke defending this type of lawsuit. Mark my words.
