It's picture of them transporting major subassemblies of the OXCART (A-12 -- later SR-71 Blackbird) to Groom Lake for assembly and test flights. At least that's what I recall from a book I saw once...

I once witnessed a stealth bomber flying directly over head, it was nearly silent, and just made an eerie low rumble. Entirely unlike anything I'd experienced before, and it made sense that somebody witnessing such a thing before they were revealed to the public might conclude it was otherworldly.There's no reason to assume that witness testimony is valuable, as we have notoriously unreliable memories and skills of observation (especially when observing something unfamiliar.)
