I think I saw this episode of Futurama before. I can't wait for the super-intelligent monkeys to one-up me in Calculus 2 at Mars university while drunken robots attempt to destroy me/beat me in a motorboat race.
This may sound absurd, but since humans f**ked up Earth, we should take the consequences of whatever Earth throws at us or eventually wipes humans out in general. Humans f**ked up Earth, now they want to inhabit another planet to f**k up the same way...really intelligent and honorable! Better yet, why don't we just go ahead and colonize the moon, and one of Jupiter's or Saturns if we can make them livable as well. I don't think we can live any place comfortably other than Earth anyways, so I can't say that I'm really worried. Some times scientists can be pretty stupid sometimes. Instead of fixing what's wrong with Earth, why not just inhabit another planet and destroy it...BRILLIANT!
Conisdering America has yet to actually make a standard broadcast Hi Def standard, I doubt we can make that ambitious date. Secondly, why do we want to? I have seen what happens when we colonize Mars, demons, space marines, and the Rock all mixed into a personal hell.
