abcnews.go.com — ABC News have posted a news story about Battlefield 2 and Congress. Of course the good ole Congressmen's have no idea what they're talking about saying that Terrorists are modifying Battlefield 2 to their needs. They also talk about the famous video made by Sonic Jihad who the CIA/Pentagon thought was a training video for Terrorists.

Downloading a new congress would mean overwriting the one we have now.I didn't want to do that, at first. I really don't look forward to tuning the performance of a whole new install. But then I realized the one we have now has serious incompatibility issues with the COMMON_SENSE patch...

and yet they read some garbage reports based on little more then clouds and fairy dust and tell us what we can and can't do based on their wisdom and knowledgeI would say this is a very worrying predicament

Laggy? My system runs at Full Graphics settings 1024x768 100hz.No lag smooth as silk.Try getting 2gbs of ram. BF2 will use up to a gig if you can give it to the game. But it will never use more than half the ram of your system. 1gb was just not enough. Once I upgraded it was perfect.I will take the imporvements they are making in this game any day. Especially as the same engine seems to be getting used for BF2142.

If you want to find terrorist activity on the net.I say save the 7 million. Give a 10 year old a mountain dew and a hot pocket and let him go at it. We would be better off. :-)

You are so right evil. edit:Why was the story buried?

You need 2GB to play it regardless of what CPU/GPU you have, or you will get the HD stutter. This is an unfortunate requirement as 95% of gamers dont need 2GB for anything else.Kudos to ABC News for a very well done report. Normally on 'evil video game' stories the mass media would simply drink the conservative koolaid or simply provide both sides of the story for the viewer to decide, here they went the extra mile to determine what was fact and what was fiction. In the end its just another story about a bunch of guys who mirepresented a fan film towards a sweet little $7M pentagon contract to surf the web looking at video games. I wish I had thought of it first.

I'm not calling em clueless because they are pandering, but because they are so bad at it. Maybe it's just laziness rather than incompetence, but if I wanted to "prove" that terrorists were abusing American technology as a recruiting tool I'd do a much better job.Well, I'm actually convinced it's laziness *and* incompetence. An intern could have done a better job than the 6 figure expert consultants here.
