The huge difference and one of the really great things about dispensaries that I hope continues in some way should we get legalization is quality control. Every crop is tested for chemical contamination, the content of various cannabinoids, percentage of indica to sativa in the cross breading, et. Pretty amazing really.
Whereas Gin during prohibition could be just about anything including containing some methanol and highly questionable flavoring agents...
