destructoid.com — This new video really shows off Aquaria in all of its beauty. It seems to be an interesting mash of Ecco the dolphin, metroid and maybe even a little Sonic-ish. Check this out. I can only hope we see a console release of this game on XBLA or VC or something.

Wow, this is pretty awesome. Can't wait to try it out. Direct link to the game's site: http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/

Not a fan of 2D? Look at 2D Sonic vs 3D Sonic and then get back to me on that.

Looks good. Here's to hoping it's more fun that its rather obvious source of inspiration (Ecco: The Dolphin), which was one of the most boring, overrated games of all time despite being pretty and original.

"The PS2 had some awesome shmups, too (check out Ibara and Mushihime)."Neither of which will play on an American PS2 without some modification.Besides, Espgaluda is better than either Ibara (glitches) or Mushi (bad, bad filtering).

Actually, if you look around, I believe they posted a music sampler on their blog, Bit Blot.

I'm looking forward to this game very much! The only problem is, I may not have the means by which to pay for it. :( I'll sure try, though. Especially if the demo shows it to be as good as the previews do!

Why the hell do people keep saying "2D ain't dead yet". That's like saying that 2D has been dying, or almost died, which is has NOT. There has always been and will for a long time be good 2D titles coming up here and there. Please stop using "[style/genre] ain't dead yet" because these things rarely die. And it sounds stupid. On the other hand, Aquaria looks fantastic. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
