arstechnica.com — 99 cents per show - There apparently was more to NBC's decision to pull its shows out of the iTunes Store than we were led to believe. Apple is reportedly pushing the concept of cutting the prices of TV shows to 99?.

iTunes doesn't run on my OS, so I got anther MP3 player instead of an iPod. I get videos onto it by ripping DVD's. I guess I could check out http://www.mvlib.com (the allofmp3 for videos), but the selection isn't great. The pricing's nice though.

SHA. Seinfeld Haters Anonymous. I actually quite enjoyed the show, so I cannot join your group. I think Diggers should watch the piracy episode (with George and the movie bootlegging). :)

There's no reason. The Apple fanboys are saying there is just to see Apple selling this shows at that price. Few people will still buy the DVD but think in all those people that just download the shows from BT, do they buy DVDs? I think we all know the answer.

Well, it depends on what you're asking. If you're asking why Apple does something and everyone says "Oh Apple, always looking out for the consumer", and if Microsoft does the same thing, everyone says "Oh Microsoft, always screwing the consumer." I have no idea, probably part company image, part people trying to justify the extra they spend on their products with "Oh, well, they're just selling it at cost", etc.If you're asking why Microsoft would end up in court and Apple wouldn't...Microsoft made a settlement in an antitrust lawsuit? Doing something like what Apple does with iTunes (bundling it with their OS, selling items at a loss to push a format) would probably violate the terms of that settlement, since it's pretty clearly using their domination in one market to dominate another.

NBC fails to see this however.

why buy the DVDSo you can have all the FBI warnings, previews, corporate logo screens, intros, etc. that you can't skip past! Why wouldn't you want such excitement? That is of course why we pay for stuff - to have little control over it.
