Buried for being rudimentary, inaccurate and insulting to the intelligence of the Digg tech readers. I don't even have to say why, all the other commenters have done that for me.

"Google will be the largest because of the diversity of products they offer"As others already said, Microsoft is most diverse in terms of products. But more importantly, Google isn't the biggest of the three, it's the smallest of the 3. By market cap the order from largest to smallest is MS, Apple, Google. Note that by revenue the order is also MS, Apple, Google.

Wrong, you'll store your content in cloud and use web apps. No point carrying stuff in your pocket: it gets lost, needs to be backed up and synced... Having stuff locally only benefits flash memory manufacturers.

Google designs the hardware. Pays HTC to build it. Then sells it to customers. That is how it generally works. Same with Microsoft and Apple. They hardly ever manufacture anything. That's all outsourced to Asian companies.

Apple has been making powerful, on-the-desktop, fast/efficient search functionality for decades. Hypercard offered a very efficient search feature back in the 1980's.Spotlight introduced a superfast desktop search half a decade ago. Apple subsequently upgraded it to be able to search a whole cluster for data, if desired. Now, Apple even has a high-speed cluster file system. http://www.apple.com/la/xsan/features/system.htmlSaying Apple will "never do search" is probably too broad to be a correct statement, since they have been doing it for ages.

Open source software can be copyrighted, and usually is. Copyright gives some control, especially when a license is involved.

Studies show half of those systems are under the control/influence of malware. Typically, malware these days severs the computers' connection to Microsoft. Therefore, Microsoft might have written the OS used in 4/5 of today's general purpose computers. However, they are in danger of only being able to "control" only 2/5 of today's general purpose computers. Huge difference.
