engadget.com— The rumors were true folks. Apple is staging an invitation-only Town Hall event in San Francisco next Tuesday, October 14th. It's absolutely safe to say they'll be showing off new laptops.

@imneatI will if/when I get a chance, but I don't always see him because I'm usually working nights (I'm a student). Although, frankly, that won't necessarily settle the matter, since it's a question of ethics rather than company policy.

Yep just sold a SIX year old 12 inch Powerbook for 400 bucks to substantially fund getting a used MacBook. And a six year old Dell notebook if upgraded to wi-fi? Maybe worth 125 bucks and bigger and fuglier to boot.
ok so spend twice as much and it'll be worth a bit more come resell time. I fail to see how that doesn't fall under logic...That's like buying a Mercedes or a Toyota. Wait...Toyota will still last longer. ;-)
