appleinsider.com — A trio of Goldman Sachs analysts predict that Apple will be pushing hard into the consumer electronics field. The company will switch its focus from the Mac to consumer electronics. They predict a barrage of products in the next 6-9 months.

Too bad they are wrong. Apple is all about the Mac, and turning the Mac into an integrated device, or as Steve said what, five years ago - a Digital Hub. The iPod was conceived to sell more Macs. It is successfully selling more Macs now more than ever. Everything they do is to bring you in to the Mac, not get away from it.

I think that Apple have a very good chance to deliver 'big' in the way of consumer electronics. They know whats 'hot' and whats not. And I also feel that they are one of the only ones out there that has extensive knowledge of how to bring together both hardware and software environments to deliver reliable and enjoyable products with a real 'lifestyle' feel.I don't know about you guys...but the first thing I do when I go out in the mornings is grab my ipod and last thing at night when I'm coming in from Uni/Work is I drop my ipod into the hifi and finish listening to my songs. Its all so seamless and easy. Iv never really had that with other consumer electronics, but that's just me! Im sure that they can do the same with other products.btw. Im not really a 'fanboy' of sorts..Iv just found that Apple can do this very well.

I agree, with the iTablet, iTV, iPhone, ihome theater, iLCD projector, ipod video , ivideo wall, iVCR, Apple is going to kick butt this winter. What? You mean Apple hasnt made any of those thing? The only thing they have is a sub par mp3 player?

After selling X million BigMacs along along with X billion chicken McNuggets, and with a X% market share it is good to know McDonald's sells sub par food.

"last thing at night when I'm coming in from Uni/Work is I drop my ipod into the hifi and finish listening to my songs... btw. Im not really a 'fanboy' of sorts.."Sure dude, glad you like your setup, but most of us dont drop anything into a HiFi. In fact, I find it hard to believe you are not a fanboy, yet own a HiFi (nothing wrong with being a rational apple fan).I wake up and grab my PocketPC in the morning, sync throughout the day as necessary (not tied to one machine, can interface with pda via PC while synced). Lots of people go though the same procedure everyday, relatively "seamless and easy"... from a MS product

There is an obvious gap in the market for an under the TV box which downloads HD movies from the net, plus works as an HD-DVD and DVD player, and perhaps even PVR. Media Center PCs have gone some of the way (particularly some of Shuttle's offerings), but they're not quite there yet...I think we're in for an interesting few years ahead.

sorry made a few typos and missed a couple of words and when tried click to edit - my changes were not saved - with no clue why .. so here I correct them: "Lot of people THINK apple has to compete hard against the redmond giant.."But today apple's products ARE the center of attraction and this is apple's golden period...Sorry for the screw up!
