"i think it'll be the announcement of the 1st MacTels in the mac minis before the holiday season" It cant be a mac mini mactel, apple just released the new upgrades to the mini, why would they then go and introduce a new processor not 2 weeks later?

Blasphemy! I just bought a 20 gig Ipod. If it's a upgrade, it's going to have to convenitently break on me so I can take it back for a refund and get the newer one for the same price.
I'll tell you exactly what this is. It is the Itunes video store, possibily with a subscription service. There is NOT going to be a video iPod! The nano is doing well, and they wouldn't upstage that unless they are stupid. Remember that Steve is still skeptical about the video iPod, plus the DRM issues are not resolved. At MacWorld 2006 you will see the first Yonah powerbooks, and not the video iPod.

GOOD JOB APPLE. haha. it's been a while sinced i purchased my 3G ipod. i was on my toes when i bought it. about 1.5 months after my purchase, the 4G came out....good grief.

I'll say it's something to do with Intel as it's being held in San Jose versus San Francisco. Intel is in San Jose.Just a guess.
