apple20.blogs.fortune.cnn.com — ?The fact that they are importing millions of units, combined with dwindling stocks of the first generation of iPhones,? persuades Peterson that these ?electric computers? are, in fact, the 3G iPhones Apple is expected to release in a matter of weeks.

My guess is the containers are just filled with rocks and the expense of shipping written off as advertising

Well, it implies some new product will be "available today" as opposed to "order today". For example, have you ever heard when something like a new iMac is announced at some Apple event and they say it will be available in two weeks? That means the machines are really not ready yet, and those first waves of customers that pre-order are really going to be getting their computer sent from the assembly plat overseas via FedEx. About the same time Apple will start loading shipping containers, but it takes a little while for those to make it to the US. That comes up in quarterly earnings because Apple pays for that shipping, and it costs them a heck of a lot more to FedEx you an iMac from some other country that one of their many US distro points. It's a big win if Apple can have the products already here, and spread out in stores, on the day they announce it.188 shipping containers would be a decent amount of anything Apple makes.... but if it's iPhones or iPods, then that's a whole lot. It's also possible those containers are just a normal restock of existing Apple products. The most recent quarterly results were pretty impressive. Apple laptops are selling REALLY well.

regardless of what digg started as, thats not what it currently is. it's one thing if there are a few people controlling content, but when you make it a user driven site, the site bends to its users' will. instead of bitching about change, you might want to go out and yell at those damn kids to get off your lawn.

So, what if we're all wrong and Apple unveils a totally new product at WWDC, and not the 3G iPhone? Hmm.
