It would be great to see an iPod update in the Spring, but historically Apple waits until the Fall to introduce updates for the Christmas shopping season.

People do replace their iPods more often than the batteries. That's how apple makes money.

Yes, wireless syncing would save me from always detaching my iPod from my speaker set when I manage my music. I could always leave my iPod in my speakers which are tethered to a wall outlet not more than 100 feet from my wireless router (away from my computer). It would work great for mounted iPods, but mobile iPods won't see much advantage.
