If I remember my latest Cisco class I believe each human currently in exist gets 65,535 IP address. But I don't worry, when people die we can just use ipconfig /release and put their IP's back in the system!

There are millions of way to get around running out of v4 ip's, just by doing little bit of consolidate and make the subsets more portable world be better place.I have no idea that there are corporations will buy a whole subnet of IP for their VPN and Networks. tbh it really doesnt matter for most users because no one enters the numeric IP in their browser because its easier to use human language ... would you rather type www.digg.com or 64.191.203.30?

I don't disagree with you but the article should have used the word "node" or something a little less specific than "device." Every Internet-capable device in my employer's building appears to the outside world as the same IP address. An IP isn't tied to a specific device per se. Like I said, it reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of how IP addresses are used.
