engadget.com — While we certainly had a fairly solid idea that Apple would be unveiling a new breed of iMacs and a snazzy new set of keys, you can color us mildly surprised to see a Mac mini refresh thrown in for good measure.

Apple computers cost too much... I just wish there was a better alternative than the driver hell that is *nix and the overall crappiness of Vista. Where's that Google OS?

Wouldn't the problem be that Apple doesn't have a product for the market he's in, and for that matter the market I'm in. I'm sure melonhedd and myself both want a more powerful headless Mac that comes in at iMac price level minus the cost of the screen. When Apple brings back a modern day $1000 - $2000 Mac tower I'll be in line at the nearest Apple dealer to get my hands on one.

You're right in the fact that the Dell doesn't compare to the Mac Mini... it destroys it in "computing power to cost". The fact that it is 4 times bigger is it's only fault, really. And it can't run OS X. The Mac Mini is just not a good computer, when compared to anything. My laptop is almost exactly the same as a Mac Mini... DVI port and all, and it's a year old and I paid only 200 dollars more than the Mini is available for now. That said, I just bought a Mac Mini for my sister today.

To be fair, you should include Vista Ultimate, not Vista "crippled" Home Basic, since original poster included Mac OS X. Oh, and it's still huge, fugly, and draws more power.
