not as bad as my laptop being out of date 3 months after i bought it, apple is actually quite slow to catch up with technology

You can easily find a NAS 1TB for slightly below $200, and a USB 1TB for slightly over $100. While USB works w/ Time Machine, the only Time Machine capable NAS 1TB went for $500. Either that or you needed to plunk down cash for the AirPort Extreme USB port to get unofficially supported Time-Machine-capable NAS. Sucks if I already had a Wi-Fi router that I didn't need to replace.

$200 upgrade for a TB drive instead of a 500GB? What a rip! I can buy a 1TB drive for less than $100 - I can only imagine how much less it costs apple to buy 1TB drives..
