It's nice to see that Apple really has been taking security reporters seriously. Apple has even been giving them CREDIT on the knowledgebase articles for finding the bugs! Nice of Apple to kick out an update in a hurry after the holidays! Thanks.
Hooray they patched some security updates. Not to be a complete ass but really is this news. I hate when people say that as much as the next guy but really. It's dumb when MS patches get put here it's dumb when apple patches make it and yes its dumb when Firefox updates get posted. I am sure any semi competent computer user, like most here, who runs anyone of these and more software programs will be aware when they are i need of an upgrade/fix.
Some people don't need to post. It shows there mentality. Me i wish apple would release there OS so PC users could have the best of both worlds. Think about it apple would make millions.
lots of applications seem broken after installing this update, especially things that need Keychain access, including Keychain Access itself, iCal (I publish calendars, and the user/pw combos are in the keychain), ssh, Interarchy, the list goes on.

Irrelevant stuff? One of the world's fastest computers runs on a cluster of OS X based servers. And it's definitely not for web design

I have the same hardware and it worked fine. You might try removing the battery and unplugging the MacBook Pro, holding the power button in for 5 seconds, then putting the battery back and starting up.http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319
