I'm all for people patenting actual technologies and inventions, but "concept" patents like these make no sense to me. It's like if McDonalds went after Burger King because they stole their fast food idea (I have no idea who actually started the fast food thing, I'm just saying). If Apple and these other companies had illegally incorporated sections of stolen source code from an application these guys developed, I could see how they might have a case, but this is just ridiculous.
They can't completely steal your idea. badqat only mentioned getting rid of software patents. He said nothing about getting rid of copyright which would protect your creation. Both systems need to be redone. Curse our founding fathers for not considering the advancement of technology to this point when writing the Constitution! (/sarcasm)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Clause
Uh, so these guys are claiming a patent on SSL?I think we should be allowed to sue these trolls into oblivion for bring up frivolous lawsuits. Trolls should have the fear of going bankrupt from legal fees and damages and they should not be allowed to shop for venue. A lawsuit should be entered in the jurisdiction where the defendant company is incorporated. Since a company is considered a legal entity, it has the right to be judged by it's peers.

The patent system fails so hard... there should be NO software patents. All it does is limit developers.
