blog.karppinen.fi — I tried to log in to Apple Developer Connection this morning to find out that my password had been changed and the email associated with my account was now a yahoo.com address that wasn't mine. Based on the emails that have appeared in my .Mac mailbox, this was accomplished by sending a one-liner e-mail to Apple.

Although I usually jump on the apple bashing bandwaggon I am in an unsual fashion going to defend them (sort of) for once. Some people who work in support are idiots and/or lazy. It's not possible for management to oversee every password request and staff will occasionally not follow correct procedure. The question is how often does this happen? What action do apple take when this happens?Concidering a team lead called and is committed to determining exactly what the person accessed I would say their action was pretty good. The staff member responsible should probably be fired or at least punished and re-trained.If this is a once in a blue moon type event then I don't think this is too much to worry about.

Until there is a major security breach, consider this a blip on Apple's radar... To Apple, if you ever plan on taking on the corporate world, get your S&#% in order....Sincerely,Your future customer

Um, Yes you can.1) Better training for tech support front line.2) Make it impossible for first line tech support to change or divulge a password, Instead make them say "Sorry Sir, you can reset that password at (website)" but I can't do it here."

When Iphone 3G was introduced, people were surprised. I costs less than half the price of original first iphone. This raised doubt in my mind,as how it can be possible. And if it is why didn`t they do it before? But here is the real thing. Though apple hides these facts,it comes out easily once use it regularly.Read more http://digg.com/apple/Apple_iphone_3G_The_worst_ph ...

thats too bad. They make nice stuff. you would just expect a company of their size & calibre to be slightly more professional about dealing with personal information.
