I think they mean battery life.. the internal batteries typically last for 500-1000 recharges, right? so, in about 4 years you will chew up most of that lifespan anyway, and since the way most of these units are designed (not easy to crack open) you will go through an expensive proprietary battery replacement. This is something I hope creative and others improve on.
Ok, then show me a car company that will give you a # for how many years their product will last. Sure they can offer warranties, ones I hope are longer than 1 year but that is a matter of business. Here in Europe there is a mandatory 2 year warranty on all electronics, sure every thing's much more expensive here but that's coz of taxes and the expensive Euro, not the warranties.
"So i guess we're all suckers!"Speak for yourself you silly little fanboy. How f**king difficult can an MP3 player be to use? "User Experience" my arse. Thats just Apples marketing speak. Don't become another unpaid member of the Apple marketing department.
What are you talking about. Creative has a battery that can be replaced by the consumer in the Nomad Zen Xtra that I've had for over 2 years. I still use the same battery that it came with but if it starts to act up it can be replaced by me. The harddrive can also be replaced by the consumer in this unit. I like the Ipod but its design is aimed at making you send it in for service so Apple can make more money off of you.

You must be the most unluckiest person in the world... or more likely you're lying to make a point.
