johnwiseman.ca — "I’m also told the iPhone will be available on a two or three year contract, and a data plan must also be purchased (data plans in Canada aren’t cheap). Looks like an accurate release date in Canada is sometime Q4 2007 and into early 2008. About the same time that the phone will be available to European carriers."

The author's statement about 6-8 months wait time is untrue. The Blackberry Pearl was released here around the same time as it was in the States (maybe earlier, if I remember correctly). It's unlikely that will be the case for the iPhone, though.

As of now, the iPhone is GSM and Rogers/Fido is the only GSM network in Canada. They probably won't have CDMA until 2008 when they launch in Asia

No shops in Toronto? I don't know where you aren't going, but the shopping in Toronto is vastly superior to anything in Virginia. The tax might be outrageous but you're getting healthcare, so don't forget about that. They can't reset your contract, it's a legally binding document with set terms. You must have misunderstood, or they made a mistake. Telus is the only mobile company that is decent as their reception in Canada is second to none, and I've tried them all. The thing is, Rogers will charge what they want because 1. They can, and 2. People will buy the iPhone regardless of what package they throw at them. They know this now, so the only way this will change is if the market dictacts cheaper rates, or if Apple somehow intervenes (considering the clout Apple carries with the iPhone, there may be a decent chance for this).

They DO have ketchup flavored chips in the U.S.See <a class="user" href="http://www.herrs.com/Products/Chips/Ketchup.html">http://www.herrs.com/Products/Chips/Ketchup.html</a> or<a class="user" href="http://www.tastebuddy.ca/2006/12/amazing_ketchup_potato_chips.php">http://www.tastebuddy.ca/2006/12/amazing_ketchup_potato_chips.php</a>

Rogers isn't that bad. Fido charges $12 for 1mb a month. On that data-cost ratio I would be paying $500,000 for a basic DSL connection from telus.

what is internet availability on iphone? - <a class="user" href="http://www.internetavailability.co.uk">http://www.internetavailability.co.uk</a>

Why would you want telus, their reception sucks and Bell has hidden polices in their contracts that you can't see, and it cost you more in the end then what they advertise. so what makes you think that they are any better then Rogers?
