If I have a decent computer... why would I want to upgrade? For the regular user who doesn't play games, what are his upgrade requirements? I have had the same laptop for 4 years now and haven't upgraded a thing - the thing is still perfectly adequate for my email, word processing, excel, internet needs. You gamers need to pull your head out of the sand and realize that most people don't cherish the newest video cards or are constantly in need of more hard disk space.
Why do I like the PC? Because I'm not FORCED into buying integrated crap that I don't want. I have the FREEDOM to purchase the exact peripheral or monitor that I want or need.Integrating products are all nice and pretty, but wait until they f*cking break. You are locked in to either fixing it or throwing it away. At least if you have a seperate monitor or external peripheral, and the it dies, you have the option of unplugging that item and purchasing a brand new one to replace it, try to do that with the iMac when the LCD dies, you f*cking can't!!!That is the downside of laptops and I will put up with those downsides for portability, but for desktop computers I want maximum flexibility and I don't want to be locked into what a computer vendors thinks is best for me!!!!I have nothing against Dell or HP or any other desktop computers, because I have used them at work, but all of my home computers are assembled with the exact pieces that I wanted.Apple products are more sexy looking, and it would be great if I was the only one on earth that had a computer that looked like that, but I wouldn't be because the other jillion morons would have a product that would look exactly like mine, that sucks! The PC is great because there are so many cases and mods to make your computer be mostly unique (3rd party case) or 100% unique if you desire. The iMac is just like those f*cking TV's that have integrated DVD players or VCR players in them....great for a childs bedroom but not great for the main tv...same goes for an iMac!
No really. The Mac pro has ONE cord going to the monitor, etc... and is a far nicer design than the crappy Dell. Using wireless, you have only one cord going to the comptuer, and one going from there to the monitor. You can't do that on the Dell.
It's interesting how everyone assumes this ad favors the Mac. The Dell shown can easily be a quad-core, 1TB Raid, HD-DVD, 768MB GeForce 8800 system and a non-glossy 24" LCD while none of those specs are available on the iMac. Sure the iMac is skinny but so is my Macbook (which happens to be running now on zero wires, as if that would be any indication of how great it is).
They put way too many cables for the dell. It should have 2 power supply cables (1 for computer, 1 for monitor), a cable to hook up monitor to computer, and then a cable for keyboard and mouse. It looks like there is about 10 cables behind the dell xps.

This is only because Apple forbids running the Mac OS on a PC.
