I have a 3G iPod and its battery is absolute garbage. Sometimes it'll only stay charged for an hour after displaying a fully "Charged" icon, sometimes it'll die and the next morning it'll run fine.Two questions:1. Anyone know how to check the manufacturing date of an iPod by serial number?2. Is there any way I can get the replacement without having my iPod's battery actually fail?
I remember I was at CompUSA back in 2002 buying a video card and there was a guy at the counter that was furious. His iPod batter had just died. He ended up getting so pissed that he just left it there. I am willing to bet he is even more pissed now. Of course three years later!
