This just in: Apple fires its Windows guy, for being an overstuffed, constipated dick. Linux guys wait in the wings, to take over after Apple and Microsuck destroy each other.
Yes I enjoyed them - they were very funny. I wonder who they would get playing Linux. The Arayan "Midwich Cuckoo" child from IBM was scary. Perhaps "thing" from the Adams family - he looks a bit like Stallman . . .Any ideas?
They practically wrote "smug little twit" in the description of the character before hiring an actor for commercials. After all, you take that actor from the commercial, add about 20 years and a few pounds to him and you've got a sexier version of Steve Jobs, only without the charm. For a long time I though I would never buy a MAC, lately, they've been making great strides and now, the only thing keeping me from buying one, other than cost, is that I don't want to support that Mac-ittude that I hate so. I once was treated so rudely by some young punk at a Comp USA when trying to help my mother purchase a cheap-ish pc laptop to use after I left home, taking mine with me. Though I'm no expert, I knew the basics as far as what her requirements would be, and the little pipsqueak kept trying to convince us that we really needed to look at Apples. He had no enthusiasm for PC's at all. Comp USA lost a sale that day and we went to Best Buy, where we found a perfectly suitable PC that has been serving my mother well now for over a year.
"...users can then concentrate on actually GETTING s**t DONE as opposed to showing off the fact that they can use a needlessly complicated piece of equipment.""s**t" being the operative word in some cases, as we can see from some of the more rabid comments around here from Mac fans.
THIS STORY IS FALSE. Buried as inaccurate : http://www.justinlong.net/ubbthreads7/ubbthreads.phpRelevant text : "As for the Mac commercials, I don't know where that report came from that said I wasn't going to do it anymore – I’m literally setting my alarm right now to wake up for a Mac shoot tomorrow -we're doing some holiday spots now which I think will be pretty funny. They’re easy to do, I love John (the pc guy) and working with him is so effortless and fun that I definitely wouldn't rule out doing some more. Thanks for reading this and be sure to sign the petition that been online for "The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang" - it’s a good movie and it's kind of getting screwed over by the studio that owns it now - let them know you want them to release it properly - it’s something I’m really proud to have been a part of (in a different way than I’d be proud to be in "Halloween 15"). Thanks everyone for letting me get in that shameless plug."Check your facts next time before you post something, please.
When I read the the title I thought they finally canned Jobs. The description ruined it.Although, I do find it funny that they call mac users smug little twits. Damn true.
@boondiggle, you're saying I have a gamers view of value? I'm not even a PC gamer. I use my PC mostly for web development, multimedia, and schoolwork (which includes running architectural programs, CAD, programming, etc.). Hence, the large harddrive (320Ggigs) and 2 gigs of RAM.
