docs.info.apple.com— Although it's just an acknowledgment and recommendation to contact Apple Care, at least it's acknowledgment for those of suffering this annoying issue.

cheers. i kind of gave up on taking the whole thing seriously. stupid comments get modded down and articles are filled up until somebody makes a post basically saying "grow up, neither camps are perfect" and then they get modded up 48 times. its getting funny, considering this is supposed to be an intellectual community. im just gunna sit back and watch the s**t fly.
Shopping makes me feel like a woman, having a shower makes me feel like a woman, talking on the phone makes me feel like a woman, watching porn on the net makes me feel like four women ;)
it would be nice if they explained what is going on. that link says just to call apple care. cmon, what gives? i just got my macbook. i deserve to know!
Just started having this issue with my BlackBook that's less than a month old. Apple is sending me the box for repair. I'm hoping they repair something and don't give me the "we booted it once and it didn't happen" crap. Here's an add idea:Mac: I'm a MacPC: And I'm a PCMac: Bends overPC: What are you doing Mac?Mac: Putting on my boots over and over again.PC: All that re-booting must get on a user's nerves.Mac: Nah, they can look at my cool case and packaging and dance to my rebooting sound. What do you do PC - just run all the time and crash occasionally. Boring.
Word on the street is that Apple got in new spec logicboards (that is why there was a 20 day wait for some repairs) with the Heat sensor moved away from the heat sink so we should see some actual fixing (as I'm sending my Macbook in for the SECOND time).
I sent my macbook in for repair for this issue. I was assured by my local apple store that it would be a simple logic board/maybe hard drive swap, for which Apple had finally taken responsibility for. I called up to day to check the status of my computer, as it has been MIA for 2+ weeks, only to be told that it was being held for 'Requoting'. I asked what that means, and was told it generally means they plan to charge me. I tried to call apple to straighten it out and after being on hold for half an hour, their phone system hung up on me. Needless to say, I am not a satisfied customer.

There was a recall for the MacBook Pro... but it was not a safety recall like the current one for the iBooks and PowerBooks. It was just due to some of the batteries not maintaining full capacity. There has not been a recall on the MacBook batteries. Here's the link for the Pros though...https://support.apple.com/macbookpro15/batteryexchange/
