internetretailer.com — What are people doing at Apple.com for over an hour? Is it really that fascinating? Are Apple fans that obsessed? These of course are only valid questions if people using iTunes aren't recorded under these statistics. Does anyone know if iTunes users connect to apple.com and they would be counted towards this?

no, actually... if iTunes were the culprit there would be over 200 million unique visitors

This is because the Apple Stores all across the world commonly leave the Apple web page open for people to surf on the demo macs.

Exactly, I don't find it hard that some people spend that long on Apple.com but the average Joe isn't going to stop by for an hour and 20 minutes.

When i first read this I thought the article was about the Apple store in malls. There I spend a lot of time even though i never buy anything simply because I love that Camera were you can take funny pictures. Always makes me laugh, maybe I should buy one..But on topic, ya its the trailers, but then again videodetective.com for that.

It's cause people accidentally click on a link to Apple.com and they are too scared to go near the window so they just finish doing other stuff, and shut off the computer without closing it.

Safari automatically sets apple.com as the homepage, so many mac owners just leave it there, particularly because it is impossible to close applications in OSX.
